First of all, this latest Janes scenic drive release is experimental ambient.

Specifically, dark ambient space music with an interesting layer of texture and a definite sense of beauty and mystery. Emotionally, soft answers lingers dangerously near the border of something forbidden.

The tracks included here were created on the Access Polar synthesizer using a single patch that self-randomized as I played it. In addition, I used the Polarâs randomization feature to further randomize the patch itself while I was recording.

These recordings were all made within a few hours of each other on June 4, 2011. They were each recorded in one take. What you hear is what I heard as I played it on the keyboard. As such, what you have with soft answers is experimental ambient improvisation. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it, incidentally and immersed in the moment.
